Bonfire night has been reinstated as the Autumnal date of choice in our household. Mainly due to the just about contained pyromania of the fine Conker Committee in our humble Somerset village. You can keep your pumpkins and your Haribo munching, house-by-house extortion by roaming gangs of sugared up youths. I’m sure Suella would be proud, no imported traditions here please.

Small production, spontaneous fermentation, low-added sulphite natural wines from Ravenna, Italy. The UAIN wines remain as delicious as before and as ever with our natural wine listings we only have a small parcel of each.

LOST IN A FIELD – PARTY ‘JUICE’

Harvest for the ’23 Lost_in_a_Field Frolic Pet Nat is I think just about complete, including that of a parcel of Schönburger, termed a ‘Unicorn’ due to how difficult it is to grow and how little of it there is under vine in the UK or anywhere else for that matter. In the meantime the ’22 is available in regular bottle or waxed cap Magnum for you to muse over not too deeply. A truly unique English wine the 2022 Lost in a Field “Frolic” pét-nat is a blend of 14 heritage grape varieties from vineyards in five different counties, most of which were planted in the 1980s and 1990s with the oldest being established in 1972.
