Mulled Over

Mulled Over Mulled Wine Spices

Bonfire night has been reinstated as the Autumnal date of choice in our household. Mainly due to the just about contained pyromania of the fine Conker Committee in our humble Somerset village. You can keep your pumpkins and your Haribo munching, house-by-house extortion by roaming gangs of sugared up youths. I’m sure Suella would be proud, no imported traditions here please.

In case you are one of those who like to get their Christmas shopping done by the time the clocks go back, here are a few pointers to get ahead of the curve.

Planning a festive party or roped into the Christmas fair?
Our Mulled Over packs contained whole mulling spices in very simple to use muslin pouches. Super easy to drop in and more importantly fish out at the end.

– Cloves
– Cinnamon stick
– Star Anise
– All Spice
– Nutmeg

An IMMEDIATE and abundant festive atmosphere can be yours in next to no time. Just add wine (can help with that too!); orange juice and sugar. Serve with a sliced orange garnish.
Can use with cider or apple juice too if that is your thing.

3 individual muslin pouches, enough for 6 – 12 litres of finished mulled drink

Delighted to add this to our range, an excellent quality single-serve fizz from our friends at the Canned Wine Co. We’ve been at a couple of events showcasing wines in alternative format with Canned Wine Co who are by their own admission
‘…all about making delicious, high-quality wines accessible to everyone in the most sustainable way we can. That’s why we’re obsessed with brilliant winemakers and working with them to deliver their wine in our small, perfectly portioned cans – without compromise.’

Absolutely. Canned Wine has featured at The National Gallery, Harrods and Wimbledon so we are in good company!

Naturally sparkling Blanc de Blancs, 100% Chardonnay from Piemonte, Italy. This 200ml can has aromas of grapefruit, lemon + pastry with gentle bubbles + a fresh and light finish. Bone dry with zero dosage, i.e. no added sugar. 12% ABV, vegan friendly.

Delighted to have UAIN back in stock (just say it….makes sense to me). These smaller pouches are a more user-friendly size, same volume as our covetable Bagnums and way less shiny than their previous batch too! Small production, spontaneous fermentation, low-added sulphite natural wines from Ravenna, Italy. The UAIN wines remain as delicious as before and as ever with our natural wine listings we only have a small parcel of each.

Harvest for the ’23 Lost_in_a_Field Frolic Pet Nat is I think just about complete, including that of a parcel of Schönburger, termed a ‘Unicorn’ due to how difficult it is to grow and how little of it there is under vine in the UK or anywhere else for that matter. In the meantime the ’22 is available in regular bottle or waxed cap Magnum for you to muse over not too deeply. A truly unique English wine the 2022 Lost in a Field “Frolic” pét-nat is a blend of 14 heritage grape varieties from vineyards in five different counties, most of which were planted in the 1980s and 1990s with the oldest being established in 1972.
